Mikel Arteta has left Declan Rice out of the Arsenal squad to face Crystal Palace, after the midfielder picked up an injury problem against Everton.
Arsenal will face Crystal Palace for a place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, with Mikel Arteta making eight changes to the starting line-up from the 0-0 draw at Everton. Kieran Tierney replaces Myles Lewis-Skelly at left-back for his first start of the season, while Raheem Sterling is given his chance, playing alongside Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus in attack.
Mikel Merino is the only midfielder left from Arsenal's clash with Everton, with the Spaniard set to start alongside young talent Ethan Nwaneri and Jorginho, who is the Gunners' captain.
Club captain Martin Odegaard was only on the bench, while Declan Rice was not named in the squad. Speaking about the former West Ham star's absence, manager Mikel Arteta said: " I had to take him (Rice) off because he felt something after the Everton game, he was not feeling well."
Arsenal fell behind to Brentford in the fourth minute, but they fought back to win 3-2. Gabriel Jesus scored all three goals for the home side, helping them book their place in the semi-finals.
